Re: my 1/4 mile track time
What were you running against? I looks like your 60' time could've been faster. Did you only run once. The reason I am asking is I am stationed here on Guam and we have a track here. I plan to run out there a few times. My boy has an IS300 with SRT intake and HKS exhaust. He ran against a Nissan 200 and lost. My boys 60' time was 2.6. There were a few pros out there from Cali who said he should be able to get that 60' time down cause it does make a difference. There was a guy with a G coupe out there that ran a 14.4. Those pros were telling us to rev up to around 5000rpm and slam it without flooring it until second gear. I aint a pro but maybe that will help. Although your time is not bad.
Re: my 1/4 mile track time
i ran against a stripped civic w/ b18c shooting about 75 shots of nitrous. i made several runs but the time was all around the same.. 15.1 ~15.2 etc...
hmm i guess 105 degrees sure didn't help. haha, next time i'll try it when the weather gets much cooler.

Re: my 1/4 mile track time
Hi,
What wheels did you have? 18" or 19" ? Also I notice a very good looking aero package. Remember that's additional weight to the car. Also a hot day can affect the performance. Next time run more times adn enjoy it.

Your expectations of high 14's factoring in the weather was very reasonable. A few things to consider for next time:
-1/4 fuel load
-keep car cool before running
-check tire pressures, adjust accordingly
-turn off VDC
-remove unwanted weight
-brake stall launch
Your aftermarket wheels and tires could be hurting your times if they are heavier than stock. I'm sure the weather was the enemy that denied you of your goal. Try racing in the evening when its cooler and you should be in the 14's easy.
Good Luck!

Re: my 1/4 mile track time
i appreciate your advice.. couple of things that i have done..
removed all the unwanted weight including the spare tire
1/2 tank of gas with octane boost
deflated tires to 35psi (tread width 255mm)
turned off VDC
brake torque 1.5k
hmm i weighed the rims and surprisingly the aftermarket axis is heavier by only 0.8 pounds. so i don't think that would have made that much of a difference. also, the weight of the aftermarket aero kit could be ingornred because they are just about couple of pounds havier.

Re: my 1/4 mile track time
with all things being equal with the exception of your larger rim and tire size, this will slow you down, it adds rolling resistance, go with the stock rim and tire size and maybe some better rubber such as nitto's,also unplug your battery cables the night before you race, this will reset the computer and learn to give you optimum performance.
