lol wealth of knowledge on maxima.org? Lol sorry but that is so far fetch its not believeable. People left that site including a lot of old moderators because they got tired of the bs people would post about and how much non-knowledgeable people there was.

Maxima.org = rice mostly these days.

If I were looking at FWD sporty sedans, I'd instantly be at the Toyota dealership looking at a Camry SE V6. They're faster, 6 speed auto, 268hp (14.4s@99mph stock), better handling/braking, better looking, sport a great interior, and they have Toyota reliability.
Altimas also have the Strut issue.

Also recommendation DO WHATEVER ever you can and stay away from the Camrys. My mother has had TWO 07 Camrys. First one tranny blew at 350 miles. 2nd built replacement camry blew at 1800 miles they Toyota made us wait for a late build. Toyota is now buying it back. It is all over the net. Go to MSN/YAHOO autos and read the reviews. 100's of reviews saying about tranny problems and Toyota knows about them. The Hybrids are catching fire as well.

And they definitely do not have Toyota reliability or build quality. We owned two because we THOUGHT they built a great car.

www.toyotanation.com and go to Gen5-6 Toyota area and you will see lots of issues.

I sold my 2001 Maxima for a 2005 G sedan and never looked back. I get the same MPG in the G, but it is less roomy feeling all around ( I am the only one in the car 99% of the time and we take our Jeep Cherokee on all family outings). If you will be hauling the parents very much, I'd consider the bigger Maxima or another make.
