Brake pad wear on 2006 sedans

I've been doing some research on the G35 and it seems that alot of people with 03's and 04's (some '05's too) are experiencing abysmal brake pad life. I was wondering if people are still having this problem with '06's. I haven't found anyone in these, or other, forums complaining of this problem on an '06, but at the same time I can't find anything explaining what Nissan did to fix this issue.

I'm picking up a new '06 sedan 6mt in less than two hours and I would really like to know what I'm getting into.

Most of the problems were fixed on the 05's.

05 with approx 13k miles... no problems so far.

One reason you dont see any complaints on 06's is because most of these people have not put enough miles on the car to notice premature wear.

Plus, 05-06 has bigger breaks. I am no brake expert, but the bigger breaks would mean less overall work done by the pads (larger surface area) = they last longer.

I have the PBR Metal Matrix pads on my 05X with the "small" brakes. I now have 14K miles on them. They are great. Still about 75% pad life left (around 7mm) all around, hardly any brake dust and squeal about 5% of the time. Can't figure a pattern to the squeal except it's only when I have light pressure on the brakes. I highly recommend these.

I would make sure to listen for any unusual pinging/knocking noises from the engine under load.
