D-specs are on.... wheeee!

Well, I finally got my d-specs on, and had a short time to try them out. All I can say is I've never been happier.

I have them combined with unrevised 350z springs, and the combo works very well. Of course, I'm really not saying anything new, I'm just echoing all the praise that these shocks have already gotten.

I put them on 5 turns from stiff both front and back, but found that they were too soft, so I've ended up at 3.5 turns both front and back. I haven't had extensive time with them yet, but I feel like this is pretty close to the sport suspension on my old 3 series BMW. There's still body roll as I haven't upgraded my sways, but there's a lot more control, and less float.

I'm looking forward to a far longer drive tomorrow, when I can truly test them out. It's probably a little stiff for most at 3.5 turns, but my wife rarely drives in the car, and if I was going on a long drive, I'd probably soften them up a bit (I have the reclining back seats, so changing them is a breeze).

With the reclining back seats, you can access the top of the shocks from inside the car. There's a flap behind the seats that can be peeled back to reveal the shocks. If you don't have the reclining back seats, you either have to pull out the shocks, or attach extenders (requires drilling a hole in your back deck I believe) to adjust them.

I paid about $450 for a very slightly used set.

I think you can remove the seats instead of drilling holes. I have the reclining seats and mine are set at five. I've not adjusted them even though I have easy access. I found anything over 6 gets bouncy.

Thanks everyone.

Chico, I did most of it myself (after doing the springs a few months ago, this was pretty easy). I say most of it, because I ran into a problem with one my fronts where one of the 12mm bolts was overtightened. I had to take it to the garage to get that sorted out

Took it out again today, and I think I'm sticking with 3.5 turns until I get my sways, and then I may have to adjust again.

I can't get over how much more precise the car feels. No more waiting for the car to settle when entering a corner.
