Correction, I get fckin 10 mpg !!! I'm really pissed, I don't understand why it's so bad. It's the same with and without my mods.

I calculated like this: gas tank is 20 gallons.. I get 50 miles every 1/4 tank or 100 miles every 1/2 tank.. so that's 10 miles a gallon... PATHETIC!

This is city driving.. regular, without flooring it. My highway mpg is twice as good... but 20mpg still sucks.

Maybe you should calculat how many gallons you fill up to how many miles you've driven, I usually average 20+ and most of my driving is stop and go city w/ lots of hard acceleration...

With my 05 X, I average about 17mpg commuting, all back roads but with traffic and rolling terrain, and about 21-23mpg on the highway cruising between 75 and 85. Here in NJ, at 85 I'm being passed by Kias and Hyundais!

Im extremely disappointed with gas mileage.... with 80% highway 20% city i am getting ~18.5 mpg. I say this is pathetic mileage even for a driver's car....

mileage records

so, I'm gonna geek out of you - I keep all my records in a spreadsheet. But, I've always been adamant on keeping up with mileage. So, below is my data for my 2004 G35 Sedan with 36274 miles. (I bought this car in late May 2006). I drive mainly to/ from work, which is a combo of hwy and city. And some day I "get on it" b/c some a##hole is being an a##hole!

06/22/2006 - 10/11/2006
AVG MPG: 21.508
MAX MPG: 27.709
LOW MPG: 19.412

My 04 (through 30757 miles):
Min: 13.6
Max: 28.78
Avg: 20.851

The Max and Min may not be the most accurate. Both were with around 5-6 gallons, either just before leaving on a trip (for the city), or when arriving from a road trip. Obviously, the slop can be greatest since an additional 1/2 gallon can make a difference. But the 20.8 overall should be accurate over 3 years.

What I have found is that driving conservatively does not equate high mpg. I've learned to get to speed relatively quickly and avoid speeding up and slowing down. In other words, begin slowing down far before you would normaly to avoid coming to a stop or nearing one. On highways at 80mph, i get 26-28 mpg. In town I get 19-20 mpg, and mix driving is 21-23 mpg. 2005 6mt with 44,000 miles.

Just bought an 03 5at coupe. Getting ~17mpg. This is probably 80% hwy. Very conservative driving.

I filled up and hit 1/2 tank right at 170 miles. Pretty pathetic. Car has almost 29k miles on it, but it did sit for almost a year only getting turned on every once in a while...

The gas gauge in our rides can be very misleading....I'd suggest doing an accurate measurement (miles/gallons) for a better indicator of mileage.
Your G may very well yield only 17mpg's, but unless you've done a close measurement, it may be higher.
