Are you ready to rumble? (Borla style)

Well, after almost 4 weeks I got my sedan back from Borla today. Since it took so long they decided to build one right away for me.
I could feel the power difference right away and I love the sound, that low rumble.

From the dynos it looks like a 12 HP increase and about 10 foot pounds.

I don't know what the price is going to be, but it should be available in about a month.

Howard,

Great news. How does it sound? Can you show us a couple of pictures of the whole system?

It sounds great. Starts to really kick in about 1750 rpm. My wife knew when I pulled into the garage, before I opened the door

I will take some more pictures tomorrow, including a far shot.

I got home about 6:30 and it was starting to get dark so I took a couple of quick pictures.

Yeah, I noticed that too about the base line. I wonder if my ECU needs to be reset. Too much granny driving for me.

I didn't get to talk to them today (at Borla)/ The tech guys were gone when I got there. I will call on Monday, tell them my impressions of the weekend driving and ask some questions. Cost, when. etc. Including about the HP.

i guess the exhaust makes a big difference interms of sound...while some people may enjoy the increase of sound, i for one do not. pitty~~~ if the exhaust noise suppresion is similar to stock, i would seriously consider buying the borla system... but i guess i not~~

by the way, if baseline dyno is truly 203.. that means there is 22% of drivetrain loss! hmmm

Congratulations!

A sound clip would be nice. And some pics underneath the car.

Does your car have an auto or MT?

Re: Are you ready to rumble? (Borla style)

Well this is good news, proof that Borlas claim to actually be creating a system for the sedan is true.

First thing I see, and it might be for the sake of only having one pic, but to me it looks like the tips are further out and in a lower location. That would make them more likely to scrap while exiting steep driveways. More pics would help pin that down as real or not.

The dyno, looks like a auto and it looks like the crazy dips in the plot are with each gear change. I see 1, 2, 3, 4, gear changes. The baseline HP is rather suspect. This system deserves to be re dyno'd. One without the gear changes.

"Should be available in about a month"

That's funny.

It's funny because sedan owners have been hearing "should be available in 30 days" for about 6 months now.

Re: Are you ready to rumble? (Borla style)

Could some more pics be shown with different angles and slightly smaller so I don't have to scroll across. I'd also like to see a dyno, but only in one gear. For autos that would be 4th and for manuals it would be 5th. The gains are impressive and Borla has excellent quality, something I would consider.

Thanks
