See the sticky in the suspension/ brakes section. It lays out the different spring rates and drops available with many different set-ups.
You can find the sport suspension shocks and struts in the classifieds and pair them up with the 350z springs for a low-cost drop. I went this route using the unrevised Z springs for a ride that is not as stiff as the higher spring rated revised ones. When you drop, you may start a lot of the rattles mentioned on this forums, but the handling trade off was worth it for me.

Nobody really answered one of the key questions (which I need to know too)... is it advisable to use unrevised 350Z springs with OEM non-sport sedan shocks? I know springs with sport-tuned shocks or the springs with revised Z shocks would be a better choice... but is there harm with going unrevised Z springs with non-sport shocks.

I'm after a slight drop and better handling... hopefully without blowing shocks right away.

Any experience/advise is appreciated.

people have told me that the spring rate of the unrevised springs are different than that of the non sport shocks which means that the comfort will be compromised and the handling will be off. the spring rate of the unrevised springs and the sport suspension match up.

Thanks for the response... so installing Z shocks on non-sport sedan is pointless... presumably installing aftermarket shocks or revised Z shocks with unrevised springs or OEM G sport shocks with unrevised springs is the way to go... correct? What is the harm in unrevised Z springs w/ non-sport shocks? Accelerated wear? Anything else? Has anyone done this? If so, what is the life of the OEM shocks?…

H-Tech

I recently put on Tein H-Tech (Front 1.9 / Rear 1.3) did not want agressive drop. The ride is close to stop and handle well (I'm very Happy). Working on a few more mods pics coming soon you can go on www.gt-concept.com to see my car posted on their web-site.

If you absolutely cannot bring yourself to make a min investment in used oem sport shocks or unrevised oem Z shocks for $200 or so, get the Pro-kit springs. I am not a fan of progressive springs, but in your case if your stead fast sticking with the oem non sport shocks, Eibach's developement car had the non-sport suspension so the springs were specifically developed with your shocks in mind. Plus your not looking at so much drop that you'll have issues with insuffecient shock piston stroke in the front (side benefit to oem Z shocks is that they they are 3/4" shorter in length vs oem sedan shocks).

Are you recommending running unrevised Z shocks and springs?... I thought the original Z shocks were too bouncy and that’s why they revised them... Or did you mean revised Z shocks w/ unrevised springs?…
