$317 for a filter on a stick? Really? I use to have an HKS intake for my Maxima. It was the same basic setup as linked above. I paid $175 for that intake 7 years ago. Why in the world do these companies think they can charge such crazy prices. It's a filter on a stick. That's it. You also have to change out the filter element every 15K miles or so at $40 a pop.
As for the "heat shield", metal heat shields are a farse when it comes to intakes. The metal shield will heat up due to the radient and under hood heat. A true heat shield is made to protect compontents from being burning/fatigued by high temps. Having a shield around an intake will do nothing in terms of keep in the intake air cooler. It's such a waste. These companies prey on people's ignorance and as you can tell, it pisses me off.

yeah the price is kind of high nothing outrageous though. ive seen worse! just wanted to know if any sedans out there are setup with it? i was thinking the heat shield would be more of protective cover for water splashes an such.....def not gonna do anything in a foot a water though i know...
I won't install an intake again. The power gains are minimal. As DaveB mentioned replacing the filter is expensive and cleaning it is a PITA and can be risky to the MAF. I like having a 7 buck replaceable air filter. I rather do other mods, like plenum or exhaust.
I have HKS racing suction intake on my coupe. It fits like glove plus i love the way it sound. Definetly a noticiable performance gain.

The Stillen and JWT intake will work as good or better than the HKS for less money.
As for the dif cooler I was thinking about one but it is a lot of work to install. Maybe the next time I have an afternoon and need to change the fluid I'll get one.

yeah f*ckin right. That place is a joke. Charging $45 for shipping...i thought people only mark up with shipping on ebay, not an online retail store! I guesss I was wrong. Where are they selling from, Hawaii? Chad is still #1.
