Missing Center Caps

I was wondering if anyone else is having problems with their stock 17-inch rims center cap coming off? This is the third one I am missing. Is someone stealing these, or are they falling off somehow? I park in my garage every night so I find it hard to believe someone is stealing them.

That's odd. They are a pain to get off. Do they come off the same wheel?

They are secured by a metal tensioner ring via the non-visible side. You have to really want them off to remove them with the wheels still on the car.

Did you lose the ring that tensions the centercap to the wheel?

Mine were mutilated by a tire guy once, broke a few of the tabs off one and he mis-aligned the wires on the inside on them too. Didn't notice until one was half way off a few months after got my tires. Put on new tires lately?

I have not purchased new tires, and this time it is a different side of the car. I already had two replaced, and now I lost a third. The guy who replaced them for me said they don't just fall off. I did have my tires rotated not to long ago. This is really annoying.

Tha's odd. Getting your tire rotated has nothing to do with the center caps. Unless the tabs are so worn out that they fall of that easily, kind of hard to imagine them just falling out.

mine have been black-chromed and painted (match powder coat rims so they won’t match anyone’s wheels - in case someone has ideas to swipe)... they aren’t hard to get off - but DEFINETLY don’t "fall" off.

PS - to pry them off from the outside, you will scar the rim of the cap... wheel off, they pop right out.
