Need suggestions for All Season High Performance Tires

These are for an 04X and will be used in snow. Good rain performance is a must.

On the high side I was thinking of Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, but apparently they wear quickly and the closest size to 215-55-17 is 235-50-17. I am also considering Falken ZE 512 ZIEX, Yokohama YK520, Nitto NT NeoGen ZR, Kumho ECSTA ASX, Michelin Pilot HX MXM4, Michelin Energy MXV4 Plus, and Toyo Proxy 4.

Any suggestions would be helpful, including reasons to buy or not to buy. I travel through NYC on some pretty crappy roads, and am looking for something strong.

Also, if you know any places to buy/install in the NYC / Long Island / New Jersey area that would be helpful.

Thanks in advance.

Have you thought about the Bridgestone RE960AS? They do pretty well in tests. Tire Rack has tire comparisons you can look at. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...ay.jsp?ttid=72

I commute from Long island to NYC every day 80 miles round trip. This is my 2 g35 coupe 6mt(RWD) and this is my second set of Mich pilots A/S. I had no problems up to 6 inches of snow. The only days I did not drive was when we had over a foot of snow. but the next day I was fine even on unplowed roads. I dont think I will ever have another tire on any car. Btw I traded in my 04 with 45000 miles on it and tires had plenty of tread left.

If you can afford them get them.

Hope this helps. GL

Goodyear GS-D3 F1 the best one you can get from TireRack right now.

Bridgestone G009's are pretty good but I don't think they make one large enough for the G

Thanks everyone for the responses. My RSAs have 61,000 miles and show various signs of wear.

I used TireRack and ordered (4) 235/50WR17 Bridgestone Potenza RE960AS. I found a local installer from the TireRack site, so the tires are being shipped directly there. They'll call me when they come in.

Thanks again for offering me choices.
