SCRAPING NOISE when turning - 2004 G35 SEDAN
I hear a weird scraping noise whenever I make a left turn or go in reverse. Sounds a little like metal scraping on the pavement. I checked the tires, and under the car, and everything seems fine. Anyone have any idea what this could be?
Under normal circumstances, no. Normally you should get a lot more life out of new pads.
But you never know, it could be an abnormal problem. Its worth it to check it out real quick. From what you described it sounds like the pads are worn out and the low pad indicator is starting to scrape, making that noise.

ure brake shield on the back of ure breaks is prob bent and hitting the rotor when load is put on that side.. very common prob have that checked

Hey dude, I had the EXACT same problem you described just a couple of months ago. The car made a horrible metal grinding noise when I'd turn left sharply. A bent metal rotor cover on the backside of one of your rotors sounds like it could be the culprit. But in my case, it turned out to be a pebble from my morning commute that got wedged somewhere and was scraping the rotor shield when I turned the wheel. The dealer found a tiny rock the size of a pea and took it out for me - no charge, either!
Take it in to a dealer to get it looked at, immediately. You're under warranty. If it's simple to fix, they may just help you out and do it for free.

I didn't even think of this. I would bet that's what it is.
No one has responded to this thread since 2006, I strongly doubt you're going to get a reply.
Put the car on jackstands, take apart the brakes on the corner that's making noise, it's probably a rock trapped up against the dust shield on the back of the rotor or something like that. It's happened to me on a few vehicles.
