Since this is my first winter this g35 sedan...Ive read alot about people putting 16-17inch wheels on with snow tires for the winter..

I have the OEM 18inch wheels on now. Is the difference really huge if you run a 17 in the winter with snow tires over the 18 with snow tires?

 

It's really more a function of the width of the tire rather than the diameter pf the wheel. A tall, thin tire will cut through the snow better than a low profile wide tire. With factory 18's and their 7.5" width, you can probably go with something like a 215/55/18. Guys, correct me if I've got the sizing wrong.

 

You do want a narrower tire for winter but with the 18", you are not going to find much choices if any. Switch to the 17" and look for makes no wider than 225.

 

Get the 17" Dunlop Winter Sport M3. Perfect for the G.

 

Thanks for the replys. I can find tires really easy...its the wheels I'm having a hard time locating...I went to infiniti to see what OE ones would cost...Why i thought they might be cheap, Ill never know because even for the 03ish ones they want 300 a wheel. Yeah please let me undo my belt for you. So now im on a hunt to find either a decent after market 17 that is not fugly..even an all black powder coated one i dont care...or find some something OE that someone doesnt want thats not off a coupe.

Don't get steelies. That what I've had for the past 2 yrs. & I hated the way my car looked....I now have my OEM rims with Dunlop M3's & sold my steelies. I think the steelies cost me $60 per rim plus $35 per hubcap. Go to www.tirerack.com (like Mr. Big said) and get an inexpensive set of wheels...just my $0.02.
