I just went through this about 3 months ago, with about the same mileage, so I'll post my experience in hopes that it helps you.
My rotors were toast, probably since I never got them replaced initially. So, here's what I did.
1. I read the DIY from the FAQ/DIY forum here. Made sure I was comfortable doing this work.
2. Researched rotors and pads and decided on EBC Sport Rotors and Green Stuff pads just to try something a little different. The rotors are slotted and have 'dimples' that make it sort look cross-drilled. Appearance is subjective, but I like the way they look.
3. Purchased the 11" rotors (~$180) and pads ($75) for the fronts.
4. I followed the DIY and replaced my rotors and pads in about 90 minutes. It was my first time doing this work, so I was overly cautious and it took me a while to bang on the old rotors hard enough to get them off the hub. It works out well, cuz as frustration builds, you'll hit it harder
As long as you do one side at a time, you'll have the other side as a reference. It's really not hard, and actually hard to do incorrectly as everything 'snaps' into place if you've done it right.
Alternatively, you could buy the parts and pay someone the labor to put on your parts or go to a reputable shop that does higher performance work. The dealer is probably the last option, as they want upwards of $500 to use OEM parts. I managed to get a decent upgrade to my brakes for ~$250 plus some of my time.
FWIW, I like the EBCs. I have PowerSlots on my 300ZX and these seem as good. My pads do 'chatter' a bit when I'm not applying the brakes, but now that they are bedded, stopping power is as good or better than stock, while being significantly less 'grabby'. Much less dust on the green pads, but be warned, the green pads have a green backing, so you can see them through the spokes in the wheel. I like the look, but again, it's all subjective.
