Titanium Tips for Sedan???

Looking for an exhaust and I really like the look of the titanium tips that are available for the coupe. Anyone ever seen (or have) these on a sedan??

Oh man I wish!!

But no, there is not one. Maybe we can get some and have the installed on an existing exhaust.

You can't be serious............. Number one, if they have "titanium" tips and they are real, they will be at least $10,000. Secondly, why on God's green earth would you want this to begin with???

Don't get caught up in the rediculous marketing hype.......

WTF are you talking about. The full R1 TI exhaust for the coupe is only $2,100.

I'm thinking of the bluish tips that I have seen on some coupes. It's an awesome look IMO - I thought they were called titanium, but I could be wrong.

You are right, they are real titanium; it's heated to get that color. If you want to see the nicest exhaust ever, look around on the net for the R1 Ti exhaust for the BMW E46 M3. It's over $6k!

I just spoke to a friend of mine who is a welder and he said a full custom Ti exhaust would be big money. The mass produced ones like the HKS make up for the price in volume. If you wanted to have tips made they would need to be somehow bolted on since it is almost impossible to weld Ti to other metals like stainless steel because the melting point is much lower and you have to weld the Ti in an Argon gas vacuum. He is looking into making me some custom tips and figuring out how to bolt them on cleanly.

ttrank - What HKS should do is make a titanium tip version for our sedans. They already make a great rear section. Adding those tips wouldn't be too hard. I would have bought that version instead.

Me too!!

If it would work, I would change out my rear section from my Borla for an HKS with Ti tips. Mmmm that would be so nice but I doubt it would happen.

You wouldnt be able to put the HKS on the borla, the borla is true dual and the HKS is a single inlet, dual outlet. You could get a muffler from a shope and get ti tips welded on though, that would be sick.
