Yes, either you can replace your mid-pipe with a coupe mid-pipe or you can get a resonator, go to a muffler shop, and have them swap it with the oem resonator. I have a magnaflow #10436 as does some other sedan owners. Deeper exhaust note and maybe a smidge louder than stock under load. If you're picky about noise and droning I would say this is right for you. More of a gentlemans exhaust mod.

My car is a lease, so do you think its worth replacing the resonator and than putting the stock one on in 2 years?

I don't think its worth it on an 06. The 05/06 have improved resonators as compared to us with the 03/04 sedans.

Your best bet for an added exhaust note that is more easily swapped out is to get an rear muffler. I don't remember if the HKS will fit an 06 or not (may need the added hanger to make the fit?).

If you want a little more I say yes. That is a long time to have a car so don't hold off if you want it.

It is true that the '05/'06 have improved resonators. I've driven two '06 loaners and they sounded pretty nice for stock. But I still think my magnaflow resonator sounds even better. Plus it's lighter. I say go for it. You can always pick up someones used sedan mid-pipe for dirt cheap and save that when you are ready to turn the car back in.

Newbie here to, you are saying replace the entire muffler for a smaller resonator type muffler from magnaflow. I would think that would be loud as hell!!!

No, I'm saying replace the stock resonator on the stock mid-pipe with a aftermarket resonator. Namely a Magnfaflow #10436 resonator. Replacing the muffler with a straight pipe would be ridiculously loud!

I put a magnaflow #40 on 6 months ago and it sounds much better, especially under acceleration.
