This is probably a stupid question, but why do some trunks have latches on the outside and some don't.

 

Mid-year product change ... They went to an internal release on the trunk and made the design look like every other car on the market. Luckily no one else has the same taillights.

 

Yet.[img]/w3timages/icons/smile.gif[/img] The tail lights are one of the things that set us apart right now, but like with everything good there will be copy cats. Look at the IS300s.

I personally like the 2003.5 style.. (clean hood, no latch)... but many perfer the other. Just personal preference I guess..

There were a lot of complaints about the trunk rectangle from G35 forums like this one and FA. Nissan may have listened and insituted the change for the mid-year run because of this. I can't think of any other reason why. Nissan is really trying to please right now to add momentum to their comeback.
The scarey thing is that if we would have complained about the LED tail lights, would they have changed those as well?

 

I was wondering the same thing. LOL. Maybe they toss a coin to decide which things to change and which to keep the same. Like was using chrome trim on the radio really worth a mid-year production change? Perhaps they look at the big complaints (the rear end is ugly, the interior looks cheap) and then do what they can.

if you look in the rides section..or one of the meets you'll find pictures of the two....the 03 has a rectangle at the back with the logo and infiniti name inside it...the 03.5 has the infiniti lettering right across the back of the trunk.
