My G consumes about .25 QTs between every change (5 to 6K miles). I've used Mobil 1 10w/30 since I bought I the car nearly two years and 25K miles ago. on my last oil change, I had to use Castrol Synthetic 10w/30 because they were out of Mobil 1. I'll let you know if I see anything odd going on with consumption.

Also consider what makes M1 so expensive and effective also disposes it to greater consumption. Since it is thinner it will also have a greater tendancy to leak and burn where other oils will not.
