The dealer is correct. It's a common problem that's easily fixed by replacement under warranty.

You might want to try to eject any cd's held in it b4 going in for service.
Sometimes holding the eject button in will eject your cd's.

Are you still under warranty?

It's a common thing and if you are they need to fix it. If you are not under warranty see if someone on here who has done a double-din would sell your their stock deck.

Like Colin says , it is an ongoing problem. My 05 did the same thing and they replaced it immeadiately under warranty. The only problem was I diddn't get my cds back that were locked in the defective unit for many months.
If your 03 is still under warranty they should replace it.

that just happen to be 2 weeks ago, its under warranty , tell the dealership to get one ordered up and they will take care of the rest, ands if you cant get your cds out , they send the defective deck back to the manuf. and in 10 days or so you get them back.

and the wait is only 1 hour

hmm.. if mine is still ok.. are there ways to make sure this "cd err fo" happens before my warranty expires? So I can get a new unit under warranty?

I have 6 discs in there and change them out alot haven't had that happen yet. But I have about 3 months of warranty left on the 03.5.

Thanks.
