2 Questions Suspension&Intake

I did a search on here for information on 350z springs. I think I know the answer already; but here it comes(yes, for verification I did search the 1million pages about 350z springs)->

Can it run fine with stock shocks, or am I gonna be bouncing around and replacing tires every 5k miles from the insides of them getting eaten up?

Secondly.. I noticed the stock intake has a silencer box on it.. anyone here ever remove that? If so.. hows it sound?

Thanks for any of the help you can offer!

the Z springs will be fine if you have the unrevised and G sport shock.
Im running Z revised front and Gsport rear not coupe.

for the intake im not sure. thats a good question! everyone just ends up getting the Z intake tube.

I've owned a few cars with similar boxes on the intake. For instance removing the box and replacing the filter with a K&N drop in gave really good results on a 3.4L Toyota 4runner. It really gave some life to the motor both in sound and gas mileage. As for power you couldn't really feel it, but I guess that would be different in a g35. Also seeing as how the silencer adds restriction to the airflow, I would think cutting it out and replacing it with a strait through intake tube would be almost just as good as buying a CAI if you combined it with a K&N or similar.

I guess its an option to consider if you dont wanna remove the plastic "Power duct" that looks cool(too me anyways). Plus it'd be better than dropping 100+ dollars on a decent CAI considering K&N filters are 30 bucks and the 5-7"inch tube can be bought at pepboys for less than 5 bucks... heh 35 dollar intake for the G35

If it wasn't so dark out I'd go out and do this now and make a write up on it so people can do this later on as an option.
