Something is REALLY wrong

and it is progressively getting worst

ever since I picked up the car, shifts on its Auto tranny have always been jerky - at 1/2 throttle I would hear a THUMP at every shift. now I hear a THUMP at nearly everyshift regardless of throttle (unless it is up there at the redline). Even in auto mode, every downshift is jerky regardless - even when I am just coasting to a stop

I always wait a couple of minutes for my oil to warm up, but found out if I turn it on (when it has been sitting for awhile) and put it into gear (D) the vehicle LURCHES foward and makes that THUMP sound. None of my G35x loaners ever did this, each one had smoooooth shifts regardless. Even my mothers M45 has a very smooth drivetrain.

My G35x is at 15k miles. I changed the engine oil every 2k miles with mobil one synth and mobil one filter. No other services have been performed except interior rattle repairs

Take it to the dealer it does sound like a mount problem. As for brand new the dealer had to change my rear axle at around 9000 miles.

what do you mean it's brand new? Didn't you say ever since you got it? haven't you ever heard of a manufacturing defect or a error in manufacturing? They are rare relative to volume but happen all the time. It's your bad for not taking it to the dealer before now, you should've been in there asking for a new tranny the first time you had a loaner that didn't have the same problem, if not before.

AND i'd rather have the G with a mount problem than a scion with none.

i'm just messing around

well, when I got it, I thought it was normal (my mustang was quite jerky as well)

it just got progressively worst and worst. Dealer kept telling me it was normal. But the past few months and its lurching on cold starts. I have yet to say anything b/c I have been busy. I was hoping it would be a more simple fix

ive had one too many manufacturing defects to deal with
my car has been in the shop gettting the brakes replaced under warranty, rattles, compression rods, fuel pump, and what not. too many problems

I luckily haven't had to deal with much of that, just the fuel line recall, and a few maintenance-esque items (knock on wood). Infiniti has a great loaner policy, go take your car in and make them fix the tranny, you won't be out anything except your mods (if you have any yet) until you get it back. I know it sucks to feel like you have had all these defects but what can you do about it except get them fixed under warranty or get rid of the car (at a loss)

Simple. Take it to the dealer again. Confirm you can repeat the problem. Then drive one from their lot and see if THAT one does it. If it's "NORMAL" that would will do it right??? They won't have much to say after that.

If your issues are mostly related to cold start/operation, then it's probably normal. ATF expands about 15% has it gets heated. When the fluid is cold, the tranny will shift harshly and may even lurch going up hills. You should avoid using any more than part throttle for the first 5 minutes after a cold start, especially with an automatic.

Wouldn't you have noticed this before? Or I guess when the car went into the shop, it wasn't cold?

I keep my car in the garage so I guess it never actually sees really cold temps but I've not experienced any cold weather rough shifting from my auto.

I can't see it being tranny fluid, or cold fluid. It's been pretty cold here , down to -26C . that's cold for us. And i haven't experienced anything but butter smooth shifts. I would say something is loose or something else is shot.
