If your issues are mostly related to cold start/operation, then it's probably normal. ATF expands about 15% has it gets heated. When the fluid is cold, the tranny will shift harshly and may even lurch going up hills. You should avoid using any more than part throttle for the first 5 minutes after a cold start, especially with an automatic.
