6mt ?

2nd Gear starts.

Do any other 6MT drivers routinely start in 2nd gear. It seems to pull smoothly from about 7-800 rpms and you dont have to shift until about 40mph.
Clutch uptake seems a little smoother than it does in first as well.

Just curious also if guys like Ttrank with all that low end torque were quicker starting in second as well???

I rarely do it. I don't think it hurts the engine in any way, im just used to starting on 1st gear.

I do it occasionally if I have something in my hand but for the most part I start in first as it's easier on the clutch

I do it more then first. Just seem that you have to shift so quick into second that its just easier to start there.

I also try to avoid this as it puts more wear on the clutch (not a humanly noticeable amount) but if i'm still in a roll, say ~2mph or 5mph and i have it in neutral i'll just stick it in 2nd.

^+1 If I'm rolling I will but not from a start. That's hard on your clutch.
