Can I lower my car if I have m45 sport wheels on them?

I was wondering if I could lower my car with the m45 sport rims on them. I have a 03 sedan and when I installed the m45 wheels on them they were rubbing my control arm so I got 5mm spacers for the front. When I stick my hand to feel if I have any clearance in between the tires and control arm, there is only a bear minimum. So, my question is can I drop my car with my setup like that. Will it start rubbing again or will I have to replace the tires in order for me to drop the car while still keeping those rims? Thanks.

do a search in the "show me your wheels" forum in the Sedan section. A few guys in there with z-springs and M-sport wheels.

the offset on the M is too high. I would get at least a 10mm spacer all the way around to do it properly. right now they tuck too much. Once you get the clearance from the suspension, you can slam it if you want to without any problems.

So if I get 10mm or greater spacers will still be able to use the factory tires when I lower it? I was told by a friend that the problem was because the factory tires are too big and if I get a smaller size tire than I would be able to lower my car.

just pm'ed you. but anyways, I'm running the factory tire size for the m wheels. The bridgestone 245-40-19's. 5mm ichiba spacers. No problems whatsoever. Lower it you should have no issues. My house has a steep driveway and I have to enter and exit it sideways. No rubbing at all. hope this helps..
