Spring Installation

Spring Installation

+

400 (horrible) highway miles

Equals

GET YOUR CARS ALLIGNED

here is the run down
its difficult to understand...

lowered car on 350z springs = excessive neg camb (on axis pentas 19ix8.5).
neg camb adjusted w/ neg camb kit + allignment

raised car back to stock w/o allignment = excessive POSITIVE camber

equals The results in the pictures!!!

Wow, you did your springs in a parking lot and 400 miles caused that much uneven wear on your tires?

Holy cow!

Neal the Z springs did that. I thought you bought a camber kit to fit it.

yea i had a camber kit...

what happened was I had 350z suspension on my G35 w/ axis pentas.

trying to experiment (since the rear was waaaay lower than the front) I put sedan springs in the rear and it evened it out a bit (gave it a / look). I didnt like it, so I thought I would swap back to 350z and install 350z shocks (hoping that would even it out). At the same time, I swapped for my winter/all season tires

and it did....but the 400 miles I had the sedan springs resulted in the uneven ware you see. Yea, I have a camber kit/toe kit and everything

Whatttt?!?!

No way the springs did that, you must have messed something up. How many people on this board put on Z springs and nobody comes back with those results!

no no no non no!!!

it wasnt Z springs!!!

I mixed springs up! I used z's in the front and stockers in the rear!! and because the car was previously alligned to 19 inch + 350z springs...it just could not handle the new specs at all

its my fault, not the Z springs!

uhhhhhh, did you get an alignment to dial in the camber/toe kit?! there's not way Z springs would do that in 400 miles if the alignment was in spec. I'm on tien basics dropped about 1.7/1.3 and my tires arent even starting to show camber wear after 2500 miles.

its gonna cost me about 300 bucks to replace those not too awful

im sure now that my 350z springs are back on, the car should be close to or back to spec. it handles like a champ again!

Why not get some energy suspension spacers for the rear to bring it up a little bit or coupe rears?
