So I could not justifythe premium pckg. when i bought the G, but with a 35K sticker price, one should get auto on/off headlights and auto-dimming mirrors(my 2000 Subaru limited had these things). Has anyone found a way to add the auto on/off headlights to the G, I got use to this feature(not having to think about turning them off), it is a little thing but if it is an easy retro I wouldlike to do this!

I'm sure you can find an aftermarket kit to do it.

You can't add the oem parts because they are built into the main harnesses. Same with the homelink mirror. I got a used one and added a new harness for that.

I find it more odd that my 03.5 has the auto headlights feature, while the 05/06 doesn't

Some do, some don't, regardless of year.

^^ Oh OK, gotcha ttrank. I stated my post based on the 05/06 loaners I've had, in which none of them have the auto headlights or auto dimming rearview mirror.

That makes sense. Out of all the loaners I have had (~10) only one had the premium package and I bet it was a trade-in.

I actually don't like it. As when I go though tunnels etc... they go on/off. I hear it's not that great for the hid bulb or ballast to cycle them on/off too many times. I mainly use the manual on/off. The one nice thing about auto is when you leave the car, the lights turn off after 20 sec or so.

I don't like the feature as well. Is there a fuse to pull to disable it?

I guess for those of us who don't like the auto, we should be thankful at least that it doesn't have the DRLs (daytime running lights) like in most cars these days. I have never really liked those lights, esp. from my previous Lexus.

Yeah probably so. I've seen Canada-spec Acura TLs with DRLs but none for the G35. Would be interesting to see it in person
