I'm looking for replacement tires finally, and here's what I'm looking at. I'm an aggressive driver, but want to get at least 20k miles out of a set. I'd also don't want to pay more than $250/tire.

BFG g-force T/A KDW (not crazy about the tread pattern)
Yokohama AVS ES100
Eagle F1 GS-D3 (backordered)
Kumho Ecsta SPT

The tire guy didn't think the Kumho was a good tire, but I don't think he knows what he's talking about. Which would you guys recommend.

The bfg gets really noisy after a while, the kumho is a great tire for the price but in all honesty the yokohama is probably the best of all. The goodyear the only downside is that you wont get more than 10-15k miles out of them but they do handle great. The yokohama gives you a bit of both worlds and its not going to break your bank to bad.

 

So far I am very happy with my Toyo T1-Rs. I have yet to go through an entire set so I couldn't tell how long they would last. They are a great handling tire and very quiet on the roads.

I think the Yokohamas are a good balance in performance and price. They're solid in the rain too.

 

Do a search on eBay you can find just about all the performance tires there for less than $250 a tire.

 

I have an '06 6MT with the sport package. If I want to get a replacement tire and use the same size as I have now (235-45's), what would you guys recommend? I now have Bridgestone Turenzas that came with the car.

 

I've had the AVS ES100s and they do have great dry/wet road grip and mileage for good 20k for agressive driving

 

I would sure hate having to replace my tires every 20K miles. I'm at 32K now, and figure i should be able to make 40K.

 

I run the GY F1s on my Stage 2 05 Subaru Legacy GT Limited and they are TERRIFIC. Quiet and excellent steering response and dry handling. Probably the best handling tire in the wet I have ever driven on. Not a very stiff sidewall though so if that is what you want you may not be as happy with them as many others are.
