Congrats!

And you're local. I'm in north Phoenix.

I have done more full track time and only been to the drags once. At the drags my car was in full street trim including a full tank of fuel, 20" wheels, full stereo, etc, etc. I could not get traction to save my life. I spun through first and second getting traction in 3rd. I ran a 12.3 at 126.5. Based on the power:weight and my trap speed, if I could get traction it could be a mid to low 11's car.

Those are not bad times considering the amount of power and having traction issues. My prior car was a 95 Mustang GT 5.0. It dyno'd at 434.5 rwhp and 452 rwt. I ran consistent 11.8 at 131 mph. But that was with slicks, lol. Where about in AZ is there a good track spot for both styles?

Wow that's a great trap speed for that kind of power level!

There are two drag strips: Firebird Raceway (south east phoenix area on your way out of town on I-10 east) and Speedworld way up north west off US-60 and Happy Valley Road.

For road racing Firebird has three tracks that the different leagues use. There is also Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) that does NASCAR and other race events where they use one of the oval turns and the inside for the rest. PIR is out west off I-10.

Thank you. The car was essentially being built purely for drag purposes. I am stationed at Ft. Huachuca with my wife and son consequently getting that far north on a daily basis to check out tracks is difficult. Guess for now I will have to stick to back road driving to Bisbee or Tombstone. LOL. I got a question you can probably answer. Do the earlier model G35's have headlight fading/discoloration issues? I have seen pictures of mine but have yet to physically see it in person. If they do have issues, which years are better and would you suggest me swapping to?

they ALL have that issue due to the plastic housings, you can buy some meguiars plastic-x and it will buff out, sometimes when im lazy I use toothpaste, that worked just as good for me

Yes they all do have that issue. I use 3M plastic cleaner and polish to bring them back to normal and then install 3M clear bra over the lights so it does not come back. Works like a charm.

Thank you for that bit of advise. Toothpaste, huh? Would not have guessed. So I got a picture of the car, and have been reading about these cars coming with Brembo brakes. Can you tell from the picture if it has Brembos?

Can't tell from that pic but I don't believe those are the sport wheels that came with the Brembo cars but I may be wrong. Brembo calipers on the G are gold-ish color with larger and thicker rotors, you can't miss them.

Thanks!

Yeah they will fit. You may need to roll the fenders a little depending on your drop and tire size but they will fit for sure. Those might even clear without rolling.

Sorry about the picture. I posted the wrong one. Here is the correct picture. Might be too small though. Thanks.
