ive heard you dont really do much unless its tuned for that gas

You don't have to, especially when you are trying to reduce detonation.

But that being said, I have the map selector switch for my UTEC and made another map with some additional timing put back in. Plus I run more boost with the mixed gas. So I do have a specific tune.

No kidding!

If I had to run C16 in my daily driver I would have to get another car for most of my driving. That would be crazy.

i want to go either single turbo or tt, but i'm still unsure about maintenance costs. whats involved when running a turbo? how often do you change oils, filters, and do you always have to keep a CLOSE eye on eveything? I'm not that knowledgable with cars in general, heck, i dont even want to change my own oil i'm afraid i might mess things up. whats involved?

Here is the short version. This is my opinion…

ST:
Pros: Less work to install and the kits are a bit less too.
Cons: More lag, Less room to grow if you decide to build your motor.

TT:
Pros: Very fast spool, More room for more power (Greddy and APS do, JWT 530bb does not have as much room to grow).
Cons: More money to install.

The TN ST does not have an oil pump but the APS and STS do because the turbo sits too low and can’t return the oil to the motor. This does require more looking after because if it goes out you are SOL.

In general:

Every so often you need to check your oil lines to make sure there are no leaks. I still change my oil every 3k and just check the lines at the same time; it takes about two minutes. There is no other maintenance I do. With my SC I had to do the same thing but I also had to check the belts a lot which was a pain. I'm not sure who started this "turbos take more work than SC" thing but I don't agree and have had both.

With any FI kit you need to keep an eye on your motor with the proper gauges. Turbos need wideband A/F, EGT and boost as where SC should have wideband A/F, oil pressure and boost. IMO you can't ever have enough gauges so in my ideal install I would have A/F, oil press, fuel press, EGT, water temp, oil temp and boost.

Thanks!

As my car sits now I would bet a Z06 would win by a good amount. We'll see after my build.

I was talking about the new Z06 with the LS7. My car can run a 12.5 or better as-is.

Smile

I posted these in another thread which is in the picture share section but I thought they would go well here too.

So after my detail I decided to take a few pics.

I know I look like a dork and my garage is a mess. I am getting ready to sell my house and packing so the garage is trashed.

I don't believe that is true. It comes with a walbro 255 fuel pump but I was not aware of an oil pump. Are you sure?... The turbo sits so high there is no need for one.
