Which Coilovers?
Well its barely been a week since i got my nismo shocks installed with my tein h techs but ive decided to go for coilovers. Ive got a tough decision to make within a day whether or not to get some new Tein Basics or these used, completely adjustable Apexi n1's for $700??

i have Apexi N1's and i've very happy with them, there offer a LOT of high adjustablity and dampening adjustablity. huge range. i bought mines used also, i would never pay the 1300 new, so its weither you want a fully adjustable coilover, used (but not the best coilover out there) or a new very limited coilover.
well although i am still 50/50 of the 2 i figured the apexi would be in my best interest for these reasons:
1. Cheaper, not by much but every dollar counts!
2. Local seller is always a + and i wouldnt have to worry about shipping
3. Adjustable dampening which the basics lack
sigh

it seems to be this way b/c apexi coilovers are not as well known as tein?

i think its because when everyone hears tein, there like "OMG, its TEIN!" because there a well know and a quality company. there made in Japan which is good, and APexi, though designed in japan, assembled in korea. if it was any other of the tein models, i would pick those, but the basics aren't that great, IMHO.
IMO the poll is corrupted by those that have now cast a vote in unwarranted displeasure vs actually making a choice based on the value or worth of either product.
$700 is a good price for the Apexi's, but represents too small of a price gap below what Megan coilovers sell for new, which from all the infomation that I have, are from the same oem supplier and likely carry the same valving specs. I know it's a tuff call to make on a product that doesn't have widespread ownership, but given that one man's love is another man's distain, I highly recommend a call out for a local ride along.

Although I don't have a G yet, I have the Tein Basics in my 1997 Maxima. Great Coilovers for the price, and very few other reliable choices out there for a 97 Maxima. But I would get the Apexi, because you can adjust the dampening, very important for a G35 owner, I would think = looks, performance and COMFORT. The Teins handle great on my car, but I live in NYC, very selective of which streets I drive on, LOL. Great performance for highway, but I wish I could adjust the dampening, hence my Vote = Apexi.
Hope that helped.
By the way I think Gsedan35 meant for you to ask the local seller of the Apexi coilovers to give you a ride in his car to feel how the Coilovers perform.

That would make my choice.
If I could get any it would be to import a set of Tein SS with the EDFC from Japan but that will be more like $1800. For the money the N1's are a better deal.
Everyone sees Tein and jumps to vote before they look at the details.
I would go with the apexi's, mainly for the adjust ability. I have had the megans for about 18,000 miles and the feel like new, those Koreans do a fine job of assembling a shock.
