Airport Parking

So starting January 8th I'm traveling with work... NYC here I come. I'll be coming and going back and forth between ATL and NYC weekly.

Until I can talk my client into letting me take a car service to the airport (I live about 55 miles from ATL's Hartsfield -Jackson Intl.) I will be driving and parking at an "off-campus" airport parking lot that is covered. Although it is covered, I'm thinking about putting my car cover on as well. Is this overkill?

If anything, it could help if some decides to let their luggage slide by my car or even reduce the impact in event a door hitting my car, right? I'm sure everyone will look at me like I'm crazy, but oh well.

Thoughts? What do you guys normally do?

park it next to pole/barrier, as far as prosible from the stairs. that way no one parks next to you, you should be fine without a cover, but if you have a cover go ahead and make use of it.

Good suggestions, but there is no way I can avoid parking next to someone. Parking at the ATL airport fills up quick especially on Monday mornings. I have a cover, so I'm thinking why not use it.

True, but if you park real close to a barrier, youre chances of getting hit by a door are cut in half.

That would be great but given I have 7 am flights I'll need to leave by about 4:30 AM to make the flight. Yes... ATL Monday mornings are that bad.

I feel for you. I don't miss with the traffic in that town or having to deal with the airport. When I lived there, I was flying out of ATL about once a week. I lived 30 miles (Alpharetta) from the airport and I'd have to leave at 530am to make sure I caught my 830 flights. It always amazed me the amount of traffic on the roads at 500am. Atlanta's a wonderful place to visit, but not live.

I'd probably pass on the car cover because I think it attraches the wrong kind of attention and if the cover becomes loose in higher wind, it can kill the finish real quick. I always parked on the upper deck of the terminal parking. I never seemed to have a problem on the upper deck because most people wanted the covered parking.

I travel also...RDU to all over, every week. The one thing I'd caution on about using a car cover, is that it may attract unwanted attention from people who get a kick out of screwing with other people's property.
