Heated Seats LED bulb

I done a search and couldn't find the answer.

My heated switch LED bulb is burnt out (the one that comes on when you turn on your heated seats). I took it apart and it looks like a simple blub that unplugs, however, I called my local Infiniti dealer and they insist that I need to purchase a complete new switch.

Does anyone know where I can find the LED bulb or know of the part # for the bulb if my dealer is incorrect?

It's not an easy soder job either since the whole rubber casing that surrounds the LED involves bending wires/resistors to fit so that it plugs in.

Thanks.

I took mine into the dealer and they replaced it under warranty. Are you still under warranty?

Unfortunately no, did they replace the whole switch or just the bulb?

My switch works perfectly, it's just the burnt out LED bulb that bugs me.

as best I know they are correct that you cannot replace that bulb. How much did they want for a replacement? My dealer wanted like $70 or something but I found a dealership in TX that sold me one via mail for $25. Were you able to put your switch bag together? I took mine apart same as you and tried to repair and put back together but the actual switching never worked correctly after that it wouldn't click into position. They are finnicky and are known to go out. I lost one a while ago and now the other one is going out too. The first one went out like yours, the light that goes on, the other one still has that light working but now the light that just illuminates when your headlights are on (the silhoutte of the seat) won't illuminate but the button still works.

I was able to put it back no problem, you need to make sure the metal "C" looking clip is pluged snug into the rocker switch before putting it back in. I've taken it apart 3x now and it still works fine.

My second option is to look for a electronics store to try to fix the blub.

I read from "Deftronix" that it was a replacement bulb from Infiniti, but I have yet to receive a reply from him.

PM AccordFreak. I've read a lot of his posts about LED's and from what I seen he can practically fix any lighting issues.

I actually have several of those little bulbs laying around.. or you could just put in a 3mm LED with a resistor on there. You can buy them locally at an electronic store. Test out the voltage and use a resistor cacluator to determine which resistor you need. Most likely it's about 10v or so, so I believe a 330ohm resistor should work.. not too bright, not too dim

I just took my LED apart and the factory resistor is 1300 ohms, why is that? most 3mm LEDs I have seen only require a 330 ohm resistor or so. Ideas?

at least your switch still works. my switch went bad. you have to take the whole panel out to change the switch. i dont know if there is a better way to do it, but the whole panel became lose after.

UPDATE: I've successfully located a place that carried the AMBER 3mm LED bulbs as well as the 1/8 watt resistor. Factory resistor was 1300ohms but I opted for a 360ohm resistor (from my LED bulb specs). After sodering the resistor and wire on, I tested it out and it pretty much matches the OEM colour and brightness.
