Clutch Problem?!?
Alright well yesturday I tried to launch my 06 6MT at around 4grand. However when I went to let off the clutch fast and then accelerate more the clutch stayed in place like it was stuck. It has done this to me before once. Is this a common problem? I have no idea whats going on.
hydraulic clutch
can't say i have had the problem with my G35, but have had it with a few other cars that have a hydraulic clutch system. that would be the first thing to look at, maybe the master and/or slave cylinder on the hydraulic clutch system. or it may just need hydraulic fluid.
I had clutch pedal sticking problem on an old celica, but it shouldn't have done that on a new car. What caused my problem is the hydraulic system mentioned by FLAG35. Ended up fixing the problem by changing out both the master and slave hydraulic cylinders.
If you search, you'll find it's a common problem.
Yes, in my opinion, 4000 is too high. 2000-2500 while feathering the clutch seems to be the most effective means of launching the manual G. What you did isn't good for the drive train - primarily your clutch.

Sry for replying to such an old thread, I just came upon it and I own an 06' 6MT OB just like bizzzrak.
You can call me dumb all you want but I just had to give drifting a try, it was wet, empty parking lot.
So clutch kickin it in a sedan would work just as well as in a 95' 3 series to get the drift goin right?
well yes and no. :/
i had to kick it at about 4000 in 1st to get the end goosed out, after it was controlled you can go into 2nd while still sideways! feels unreal in a sedan!
(and yes the slip light stayed on afterwards and the VDCoff button didn't do anything when I clicked it again and again, everything was fine after I turned the car off and on again).
idk just felt like sharing that. haha
