HID Xenon on 03 g35

Hi I was wondering if I was the only one with this problem. I have a 03 g35 with the factory HID but for some reason I don't think it is bright enough. Some times at night I wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the HIDs and the the non HIDs. Can I do something to make it brighter? Like for instance change my high beam bulbs and turn the fog lights on?

It's the design, they're not the most efficient, the best is to do a projector upgrade like what ttrank did. The OEM bulbs are the brightest that they come in.

Are you certain you have HIDs because not all 03s came with HIDs. It was a $500 option. A friend of mine has an 03 without HIDs and there is a huge difference in the light output. I constantly get flashed when my HIDs and driving lights are on because people think it's too bright.

I'm positive they are HIDs. The bulbs, ignitor, and everything else is back there. Oh and they are the factory one.

No offence to the older crowd but I find older ppl are more sensitive to the HID lights, by old I mean 60+... most ppl who've flashed me were in that age range.

I agree, my last car had LS430 Projectors and I still got flashed. Projectors hardly give off any glare at all.

Then the needed to be re-aimed.

I have not been flashed once with my projector mods. I aimed them so the cutoff is just below the windshield of other cars and stays level as you go out. That way the only time it would hit another driver is if I hit a bump or they are below me on a hill.

When I put them In I re-aimed them. I still got flashed occationally. In fact. In my Wifes TL we get flashed sometimes also.

I can understand what he's saying, I think the 03-04 HIDs are pretty poor compared to comparable cars. The light output is better than halogens, but no where near the output you get from other automakes...bmw, acura. That's why I upgraded to projectors. I think they suck in the rain too.

also since your car is 4 years old you might want to change the bulbs out because they do dim after a few years. Make sure you get 4100k or 4300k to ensure the best and brightest output.

Thanks guys. I ordered a pair of Luminics H4 bulbs for my high beam and now I run with the HID's and fogs on. Looks a lot brighter but nothing compared to the TL.

If you want better snow/rain light, switch your fogs out for some Piaa 2500k yellow bulbs. I had them before my TL projectors and they help a lot!

Well, I just bought the Luminics and it works perfectly fine. But I'll keep the Piaa's in mind if I want to upgrade. BTW, Timmahh your always on the forum. No wonder why they call you a post *****.

At night, when it`s dark, how can you see the people who flash you to tell how old they are????
