Nissan seems to understand throttle-by-wire calibration

I rent a lot of cars and trucks for work and I must say that nearly every other make and model I drive has absolutely dismal throttle response from the throttle-by-wire system. Ford F150s and new Jeep Grand Cherokees have horrible response. There is almost no response from the engine until the throttle is pushed a 1/4 of the way. Most other make/models have in consistent response too meaning there is a swift change in power with minimal change in throttle movement. I find my 5AT G35 is have almost a cable throttle-like response. The response seems to be nearly instantanous compared to most other late model cars I've driven. My father's 03 Sienna has decent throttle response as does many of the Solaras/Camrys I've rented. The later model I-4 Altimas I've rented have throttle response as good as my G's.

What everyone elses experience with other cars?

Yeah Dave. But has the aftermarket figured out Nissan/Infiniti's DBW system like it's been cracked for Ford??

I wish. I don't understand why companies like Hypertech and SuperChips haven't tried to get into the Japanese market, especially since Nissan uses VQs in damn near every model.

Mine has started to dump off a little bit, it used to be perfect, but now i have to push the gas a little bit before i get a responce...this is only when it is in drive though. Once it goes into manual mode then it is instant.....odd!

Maybe my tranny is starting to slip out!

I think there was a gas pedal reset procedure, check the Motordyne site if I'm not mistaken its in the Install document. I could be wrong but I know there is a gas pedal reset procedure.

I submerge my G in dive mode all the time. I usually do it after it 'dumps off' ( ) to get the best 'responce'.
