VQ 35 motor for sale on ebay

Everyone, there is a VQ motor for sale on ebay. It is completely disassembled and ready for build up. It is a 2005 rev-up motor.

Right now the bid is $50 BUCKS! THERE IS NO RESERVE!!!!!! The guy didn't put one one it.

I don't have the scratch, but someone here should try to snag this.

Are you sure it is a revup engine? Only the 6MTs have the revup engine. This engineis from an AWD according to the auction.

What I don't understand is:

1) Why is the engine completely disassembled if it only needs a valve replaced.

2) Why wasn't this 2005 motor covered by the factory warranty.

I wouldn't touch a disassembled engine with a 10 foot pole. You can buy used 10K mile FM VQ35s for $1,500.

I'd love to buy it but he will not ship. Any NY folks willing to pick it up and ship it to me? I'm more than willing to of course pay the shipping costs and your time + premium to do it.

Unfortunately, you have to tear everything down to get the heads off on these cars. You need to take the front cover off, and the upper oil pan needs to come off because of some bolts on the front cover. Seems assinine, but that is what I have been told before.

Na, a head swap can easily be done with the motor in the car. Lots of VQ30/VQ35 Maxima guys swap heads on their cars. This guys story just doesn't make sense because if a valve went bad, you'd yanked the head, remove the cam that drives the valve, and replace that one valve. There's no need to remove the motor, pull the oil pans, remove the oil pump and pickup, completely disassembled the front end of the motor, and completely tear down both sets of heads. I think there is something seriously wrong with the this motor. Also, how can you be certain all the parts are there. Any knowledgable mechanic knows that you seperate and label parts, bolts go exactly where they came from, especially cam bolts and head bolts.

Yeah great job not scratching up those cams by putting them in the box like that. I'd be wary of this unless it was dirt cheap. He clearly has no idea about engines or how to take one apart. That means, there could be 10 other things wrong he's not telling or doesn't even know.

If I was local I would buy it just for the short block. It says it's from an "X" so it's not a rev-up motor but I don't care. I wish it was close to me.

BTW it ends in a few mins.

I'd say 50 bucks was dirt cheap... That was the winning bid.

I have a bad feeling about this auction.
If the guy drinks St. Ides...that tells me all I need to know.

Here's what funny about the whole thing!

Check out the feedback that the seller gave the buyer.....

The seller gave him negative feedback for not responding or paying for the item.

Geez, $50 and he couldn't pay for a 2005 Infiniti engine?

Wow!!!!!
