Re: Injen CAI

Before you decide, remember the Nismo intake has a nearly identical design to the Injen, and includes a bypass valve to prevent water injestion.

Re: Injen CAI

You mentioned that the Nismo has a "nearly identical design to the Injen". Injen is stated to have 14.2 RWHP & 11.6 Ft LB. gains while the Nismo setup only claims 5.5 HP. I'm more likely to believe the Nismo claims. I find it very hard to believe that the Injen can produce those gains on its own. does anyone know if there any major differences?

Re: Injen CAI

i think the 5.5 gain is for the 350Z. for the G35, the gains would be much more than 5.5

Re: Injen CAI

I'd like to know more about exactly which Nismo CAI you guys are talking about too. I've been trying to do some reseach online, but only see the CAI for the 350Z. Is this the one you guys are referring to, or is there one specifically for the G35 that's coming out soon?

Many thanks,

Re: Injen CAI

I really don't think a 350Z CAI is a direct fit on the G35. That is one part that I am pretty darn sure is different, routing wise or plumbing wise. BTW, AEM makes the Nismo intake for Nismo. Check and see if AEM makes a G35 intake.

Re: Injen CAI

For the Injen, I highly recommend it. The 1992 model is not just for the coupe, it is for the 6 speed, whether it is the coupe or the sedan. The 1990 is for the auto. Now, if other people say that the 1992 will work on the automatic, give it a try. I have had a lot of complements from those with Stillen intakes and the 350z conversion and they love the sound that the Injen makes. Also, the performance IS THERE!

Re: Injen CAI

Several people have already installed the Nismo on both the Gc and Gs without any more work or special treatment than the Injen. I was worried about the install as well and made sure it would fit before I ordered it. The posts are buried in several threads here somewhere, probably over on the Tech and Mod forum.

As to where to get it, it costs $269.00 at:

Re: Injen CAI

As I remember, the Injen system dyno'd 14 additional hp at the wheel on the G. I haven't seen any numers on the Nismo, but since it's virtually identical to the Injen, I'd bet it will be the same.

Re: Injen CAI

Yeah, The nissmo is for 350Z...i mean the engine is the same...but i still really wanna se the dyno result with the nissmo CAI. Does it really avoid sucking water up? Is injen intake pointing downwards?

Re: Injen CAI

The two systems are very similar (Nismo & Injen). Both end in a standard conical filter in about the same place. Yes they point downward but the filter is there, so the actual intake is not actually directed toward the ground.

Here's the thread with pics of the install:

https://g35driver.com/forums/showfla...&sb=5&part=all

Wait a few days and I'll have mine installed. I'll should also have some accelerometer numbers before and after.
