Re: Injen CAI

Hum, i'm also interested in purchasing a CAI. But have some question before i buy it.
1. Will the CAI void the warranty? (Nismo and Injen?)
2. Injen claim 14whp gain while only 5 on Nismo?
3. Any problem with the Injen CAI or Nismo?
4. I have 5AT coupe, what model should i get?
5. Where do i get them.

Suboro, where did you get yours? we should've start a group buy for Canadian g35drivers.

Re: Injen CAI

1. Will the CAI void the warranty? (Nismo and Injen?) -- Only if the repair in question can be proven to be a result of the inake system.

2. Injen claim 14whp gain while only 5 on Nismo? -- The Nismo is rated for the 350Z, which starts with 7 more HP than the G. The intake designs are virtually identical, with the exception of a built-in bypass valve on the Nismo to prevent water injestion. I suspect the final performance to be equal.

3. Any problem with the Injen CAI or Nismo? -- One hydro-lock reported on a 350Z with the Injen that I know of. Other reports (stalling, odd exhaust noises) have been spotty and so far not able to be reproduced well.

4. I have 5AT coupe, what model should i get? -- Injen has different models for the coupe and sedan, andy perhaps transmission types as well. Nismo is one-style fits all.

5. Where do i get them. -- Nismo: http://www.performancenissanparts.co...products_id=50, not sure about the Injen.

As someone already said before, the worst thing a CAI can do to your car is suck water into your engine...and your car is probably finished, but when it suck in water, just replace the old stock one back and thats it.
2. Injen claim 14whp gain while only 5 on Nismo?
Yes, thats true, but im not so sure on the injen CAI because i dont believe the same looking tube will make such a difference.
3. Any problem with the Injen CAI or Nismo?
For injen i heard that its pointing downward to suck more cold air into the engine, so when its rainging...you never now whats gonna go into it...but the reason i bought Nismo intake is that they said [Designed to prevent inadvertent water ingestion]
4. I have 5AT coupe, what model should i get?
I have 5AT sedan, i got nissmo for myself, but i dont know about you...you should make a decision yourself so you wont regret.
5. Where do i get them.
Nissmo CAI: http://www.performancenissanparts.co...products_id=50

Injen CAI: http://intensepower.com/enpe5.html

Hope this will help you a bit

Re: Injen CAI

Sub, check the DIY forum for the full install guide for the Nismo intake on the G. Sound bytes and videos too. I love it.
