Wood Grain - What Finish?? Check out Link

Looking to get wood grain for my 2006 G35x - Wheat Interior. What finish would be the best? I was thinking Birdseye or Platinum Wood finish. www.wowtrim.com. I have purchased from this website prior and love the fit and finish work. The 3M tape really makes it easy to use.

go with the real wood version, not the synthetic and go with "medium burl."

id go wid Dark Mahogany cuz Mahogany is one of the most expensive wood and its good quality. all hardwood floor and everything that made from mahogany is pricey cuz of the quality.

and Rosewood doesnt look too bade but i think its too light

mahogany has a nice, fine grain to it, but it is more suited to large items, such as front doors, and dining room tables.

The floors that you are thinkining of are probably santos mahogany, which is a very hard!!! and durable south american species; it also has a fair amount of color variation to it, making for a striking look when laid as a floor.

In a car, and on small trim items, a more distintive grain pattern tends to be more appelaing to the eye...that is one reason the burled walnut has been a mainstay in luxury car trim for decades now. Birdseye maple is another beautiful, but rare species.

I went to the factory in N. Plainfield NJ and matched as close as possible to the OEM $250 wood package, with Real Platinum Wood for $312. Should be made within 5 business days.

Stay away from that stick-on crap. It looks cheesy.

I agree that it looks cheesy when you use all the pieces they give you with a kit, but in my Mazda 3 that I used to have, I installed about half the pieces and it looked awesome. Also, a lot of the dealerships have been using the stick on kits (I think there is even a pic of an 07 on the site). I personally like it, but if I could get replacement pieces and not stick on I would look into it.
