Y Pipe replacement

Was underneath the car on the weekend to install the coupe midi, however, I noticed the flex part of the Y pipe is frayed.

Any suggestions for a replacement or should I just look for another OEM one? I'm looking for something that lasts a long time.

I've read most aftermarket Y's are 3.0" out where ours are 2.5" so I'm assuming factory is most likely the way to go?

The closest to oem diameter's is the Tanabe Y-pipe at 60mm off the cat's into a 70mm collector. Kinetix used to make one that was the same diameter's as oem, but stopped making it a long time ago.

Will the Tanabe outlast the OEM? I'm looking for something that will last a long time esp with the winter up here.

Honestly, if the rest of your exhaust is stock, I'd just go for OEM. I'm pretty sure the Y-Pipe is the same for the Z's and G's. It'll probably be a whole lot cheaper, especially if you buy it off of someone who went aftermarket.

I'm guessing it's frayed because you may have bottomed out your car once or twice. Do you have an exhaust leak? Is it loud?

Sorry, I purchased this car used a few months back, just trying to get everything fixed. It's frayed but it doesn't look like it was bottomed out. No leaks, I guess it's just cosmetic so far?

Also, the ground wire was cut or must have broke off in the rear so I'm not exactly sure where the other end should attach to on the frame. I know the one end goes to the bolt where the midi meets the muffler. I have ordered a new wire.

Yeah, so I guess you truly don't need a new Y-pipe just yet...

As for the other end of that grounding wire....I'm familiar with it from when I replace my midpipe and also from when I put on my HKS muffler....but for the life of me, I honestly don't remember where the other end goes to...I'm sure someone else on here will get back to you on that.
