Does anyone know if extreme cold temperatures can be the cause of the radio not having any sound?
It was bitterly cold this morning when I started my car (05x) and had a read out of 9 degrees on the dashboard. After starting my car this morning, everything seemed to work fine with the radio except the most important thing. I was not able to get any sound out of my radio. The display on the radio was working normally since when I changed stations or increased or decreased the volume, the display on the radio showed that I was doing this. The display even showed the name of the radio show and what songs were playing. I even tried playing the CD player but couldn't get any sound out of it either. I tried turning off the car and just the radio player to see if this would reset something but this didn't work. After driving for about 15 minutes (and the inside of the car warming up) the sound suddenly came on and the radio has worked fine the rest of the day.
I'm hoping this was just a one time thing but was wondering if anyone else has had this problem.

It's possible that some component was not working due to the cold. The best thing to do it wait and see if it happens again before you worry too much.

It's not an issue. The owners manual states that the radio might not work under extreme conditions.

motor sounds like a warzone for the first 2 seconds after hard start up (with my cheap *** crappy $50 diehard battery) prob due to the plenum...cats...errr well everything haha.
rattles are everywhere and what not. I am doing a rattle exorcism soon...than I will cover the rear area with dyna mat (or like material)
car will be up to par soon....hopefully
