I hate when we argue about this among ourselves, and I usually stay out of the fray, but concerning the Freshalloy post, I'll allow myself this response:

Re: Any regrets?

Hey, at least mistaking it for an Altima is better than what the @#$% insurance company did when mine was in the body shop.. assumed it was the same size as a G20/Altima, and tried to rent me a Corolla as a replacement for the week.

You can put a big engine and stiff shocks in a FWD family sedan, but that doesn't make it a sports sedan. About the only part the G35 shares with the Altima is the engine block.

Re: Any regrets?

in regards to the stupid argument that dragon put up, yes, u are right, in society today we easily judge people and things basis upon looks. but if your going to say that the coupe looks better because "more seem to like it" this has not basis for argument. just as saying you like the coupe, i can say i like the sedan. this can go back and forth between owners of the coupe and owners of the sedan and people who do not own them. have u done a study or a survey on who likes what more? did u go to UC Riverside or UCLA or any of those other colleges down there and conduct a survey? i doubt u did. when u say the coupe is superior to the sedan and has better looks and all, i agree with u, but u have to realize that the sedan also posseses advantages over the coupe. some people want a four door car instead of a 2 door. other people have different needs and therefore need a sedan. also, so people may not want to pay for thousands more for a coupe since some may not see it's worth it. by u saying that there are plenty of other options out there than the sedan and for the people needing the sedan, y do u think that we owners of the sedan bought it in the first place? we did our homework, now it's time to do yours. we may not like the bmw, merc, or lexus is. has it ever occured to u that since u only were interested in the coupe that u did not take the time to look at these other sedan cars in the first place and compare them to the g35 sedan? the merc and bmw have reliability issues and a long history of them. so yes, they may have a nicer interior but they do no good when they break so easily right? look at consumer guide, they discuss this issue. the IS is a nice car too, but the g35 sedan will still win a battle on the street. i myself considered the TL and the BMW when i bougt the g35. but i was unwilling to spend the extra thousands on the BMW when i can just spend it on the g. the g has a bigger interior anyways. many say that the looks of the bimmer are also out of date and so common on the street. when you say "The Gcoupe is a basically a premium 350z" how bout i post that up on the 350z forums? most of them will eat you alive, man. some prefer the 350 over the g35 coupe because it's a classic. they may think that the 350 is so much better than the coupe. yes, u are entiltled to all ur opinions, but the mere fact that u did no research upon ur arguments and say whatever comes to mind completely puts your argument to shambles. and the fact that you tried to denounce us G sedan owners and have no basis for argument, exemplifies you as an egotistical, brat, that has an inferiority complex and had to "go with the masses" and buy a coupe because YOU think that people will give u big props for buying such a nice car and just wanted the attention . . . but hey, that's just my opinion . . . and with the masses (judging by others posts and on freshalloy) others think this too. soo, by ur assesment of "dominantly relative-viewed world" my argument must be right, right? obviously, i didn't take a poll on this, i preceived this to be true only, and u did this with ur arguments too. and that's exactly my point, no basis for argument

Re: Any regrets?

Uh, for dragongcoupe, it's doesn't seem immaturaty, so much as intentionally trying to stir the pot, or sheer ignorance. Take your pick.

You pretty much discredit yourself by saying things like the G35 sedan is nothing more than a nice Altima. Either you don't know anything about the coupe you say you own, or you're just angry that not everyone likes or can use the coupe daily. You know, or at least should know, that the sedan is essentially nothing more than a G35 coupe with 2 extra doors, which is a shared platform w/the 350Z and FX.

Now to get back to reality, like everyone else with educated info to add, I agree that we chose the sedan for its' room and easy of daily use. With my first child on the way, my wife said "If you want the coupe, then you get the $#%^& baby seat out of the back seat every day". Since it will be her car, that was the end of that.

Lets get the story straight. The Sedan came first. If anything the coupe is a two door version of the sedan! ; ) Without the success of the sedan who knows if the coupe would have even been produced. And by the way, I am a BIG fan of BOTH the sedan and coupe.

Re: Any regrets?

This is FUNNY! Your parents should have spent the money on your education, rather than the car. Which, by the way, in relative-terms of YOURS, is a 2-door Altima. Didn't think so. Gee, a G35 Sedan couldn't be anything close to a G35 Coupe, it has too many doors, but forget the common name, G35.
You speak so highly of the M5, why? How can you even compare a G35coupe to the M5. v-6 vs. v-10? 2-doors vs 4? 34K vs 85K? Why don't you trade your G35 for a 1990 M5?
Oh, has anyone even asked: DO YOU EVEN OWN A G35??????????

Well, an M5 is just an M3 with two extra doors and two extra cylinders.

Re: Any regrets?

Judging the sedan/coupe by looks is one thing......

But saying the sedan is lesser of a car? Um, no. Frankly, if you hate the sedan with a passion, and purchased a G35 coupe, you don't appreciate the G35 period.
