own a wood dash kit?
I wonder if anyone who installed a wood dash kit can help me out here. i just purchased a dash kit , but i am having trouble fitting the center (lower) console piece into place. the big hole just wont fit right into the shifting plate. so does anyone have the same problem? when i try to align the piece to fit, some parts of the wood dash circle will go under the shifting plate and the other side will show a big gap and just doesnt fit right. i called the vendor up and he said i have to push the plate to fit. but it doesnt make sense cuz the plate is fixed so it wont move at all. i played around with again and still doesnt fit exactly into the hole. when the plate does fit perfectly into the hole, the cupholder and the emergency button wont fit in place. does anyone experience that? any suggestions of what i should do?
thanks.

Re: own a wood dash kit?
I have been considering buying a wood dash kit. There are several that I have seen advertised in the car mags such as "exotic wood dash kits". Most for the G35 are stick on types but I would prefer the molded types and I don't think they are available for the G. Can you tell me where you got yours? I'm sorry I can't help you with your problem though.

The only molded kit I've ever seen, after extensive searching, is slod by japanparts.com (http://www.japanparts.com/shop/shop....ior+%2d+others). It looks like it only fits the bottom of the console and doesn't have holes for the heated seat switches. Also expensive!

www.sherwooddash.com is a great place to get your wood dash kits. The one for the G that they have looks awesome. I installed one of their kits on my Alty and all pieces installed with ease. I plan on putting one in my G also.
