Damn it all to hell

Driving home from so cal last night, I couldn't avoid running over a semi-truck re-tread. Needless to same it screwed up my front bumper. It snapped the lower grill insert on the left side off. Apparently I can't buy the piece to replace it and must buy a new bumper... $1200 for the Nismo replacement. This is bull$h!+. I could go aftermarket, but I really don't like the Impul or the Gialla. And I can't install the lower billet inserts without this piece. I would love it if the DAMD Black Metal X was available for the sedan! ARG... Any ideas?

Wow...that blows! Doesn't insurance cover something like that? I hit a raccoon a while back & that $hit was covered ($2,600 worth of damage). I'd imagine your deductible is a fraction of $1,200.

Good luck!

Just for reference, to avoid a rate increase, you need to claim the the debris (tire in this case) NEVER hit the road before it hit the car. The insurance company will file the claim under collision rather than comprehensive.

Re-treads should be illegal! Hey where can I get the Sportec bumper? I like the lines on it, similar to the Nismo but without the license plate crap... I found Sportec's jp website but I'm not fluent so I think it would be hard to order

I need to check at home but I may have those inserts sitting around from when I cut my bumper to fit the IC. I think I threw them away but I might have them.

Thank God for insurance. I would cringe at the thought of having to pay 1200.00 bucks for a new bumper out of pocket for road hazards.

Will do.

If I can't find it and if insurance gives you the money and you get another nismo, make sure and get it from Tony or Jason at Riverside Infiniti. It will be quite a bit less!

What Greddy bumper?

You can take a nismo one and cut the crap out of it to fit the Greddy IC like I did.
