I am almost done my Version 2 carputer install. i took the stock navi housing with screen, and with some mods fitted a 7" touchscreen hitachi vga lcd. now i got a nice 13.3" sony S laptop with dock. Right now the laptop sits on the floor at rear, but thats no good. Does anyone have any ideas where i can mount the dock and still be able to remove the laptop? Trunk is out of the question, too cold in winter, too hot in summer.

 

If you had a small enough laptop it would be cool stick it in the slot that the dvd-rom use to be in...i know the non navi g35's have a bigger opening there, so maybe the parts can be moved into their?

 

What about in the map pocket on the back of the front seats?

 

In the trunk. I have seen some bad-@$$ slide-out trays for mounting electronics. Like those in the PDF linked below.

Where the navi dvd-rom i had my 1st install there, but it wasnt a laptop. My laptop doesnt fit by like 1.5". map pocket, is ugly, and wont fit with the dock.
