GPS- mods/hacks?
GPS- mods/hacks?
I used the search on the forum to try and see if I could find any documents on Modding your GPS
So far all I could find was information on Acura through google, and some off topic stuff about the g-Navi.
I want to be able to change the home/loading screen to something else in my navi.. anyone knows how I should go about doing with without having to rip apart *.*bin files on the dvd-rom all day?

That would be neat, but even more useful would be a hack to disable the question you have to answer at boot and even better, allow actually having 100% use of the GPS while moving (without having to put in a physical toggle to disconnect the antenna).
I'll be watching this thread with interest (hopefully it gains some momentum

Both modules install the exact same way. MechEE was going to buy a unit from KPtech and instead decided to build his own, modeled after ours. It has the exact same connections in the car that ours does.
There may have been some confustion because he was selling his mainly for 05+ cars which are MUCH easier to install in. The 03/04s require quite a bit of disasembly. MechEE also made light of the fact that you need to solder a wire on his directly to the circuit board (just like the KPtech). KPtechnologies wants customers to know exactly what is involved before they buy a module, so they won't be surprised.
Our newest version now offers a soft electronic beep to alert you when you bypass the VSS (allow programming while moving). It will then alert you again when the VSS is reconnected.

Well I'm not going to even think about doing the install myself for something like this. I know what I'm good at and what I'm not, so if there is anyplace in MA/NH that is familiar with the install please let me know, otherwise I guess I'll live without or eventually see if I can figure out if there is some sort of hardware emulator and disassembler out there and modify the software itself.

In order for it to work, there has to be a physical 'OK' pushbutton on the navi, and everytime you start the car it has to immediately go to the 'OK' screen.
