Tim, I'm sure it won't be installed 1/2 @ss. You have a pretty good track record with your ride. I was wondering if the layers of CF will cause the bar to contact the hood or liner? Also, which hood are you using?

Thanks.

I don't think they will make it hit the hood since the CF is just in the center. I am going to put the Stillen hood back on this weekend!
Mike at Intense got me a set of the flush AeroCatch pins so they are going on before I go to the drags on Saturday.

Believe it or not I don't work on my car that much. I work ~50 hours a week (some at home) and have my 4 year-old daughter 50% of the time. But when I do have time to work on my car I go nuts!!

no ****! I need lessons...and a few less kids. How thick is the 2 layers of CF? And it's going on the entire bar? Or just in the middle of the bar?

Just the center of the bar over the plenum. The rest is going to be the same semi-gloss black engine paint I used on my plenum. It should come out nice.

Sounds interesting. How is the CF attached to the bar?

I cleaned it as best as I could. Then cut a piece to fit, taped it to one side, wrapped it around and taped the other side to the tape. From there you put lots of coats of resin on it. Once the resin is hard you sand the edges down and tape off a bit of overlap and paint it.

At least that is my plan, we'll see how it comes out.

i know what tim has in mind, his carbon fiber z plenum cover will flow onto the strut bar since they are going to be able the same length...and IMO that is going to be hot!

No it is just for looks and the main purpose in heat and vacuum is to add strength without weight.
