Finally got the G35X, need some opinions on Mods!!!

Hey guys. I finally got my 2004 G35X, Diamond Graphite on Graphite with the Aero Pkge and Premium Package.

I plan on getting 19x8.5 rims with 40 offset, 25 lbs each. Would the 19" affect my tranny at all, with the additional weight? Or is 25 lbs ok?

What size tires should I get? 225/40 19 or 245/40 19? I'm leaning towards the 245 b/c I live in Queens, NYC and the roads and not friendly to 19" rims. Which is closer to stock as far as the speedometer is concerned?

I'm considering lowering it too, but I love the stock ride. If I do lower it, it would be with coilovers. Anybody with an X have any experience with the VRT coilovers? Ride, comfort, allignment?

Where could I get the JDM driver's side battery cover?

Thanks in advance to all. And thanks to everyone who advised me when I was looking.

19x8.5 +40 245/40/19 all around would be a perfect setup for the X. There's only one member here that has the VRT coils for the X and he got the whole VRT treatment... TT, built motor, VB, etc. etc... Cant go wrong with anything from VRT. I got my rhd batt. cover from mynismo.com

Well X, I really like the stock ride... So guess a good balance b/w comfort and a nice drop. I would like to still carry passengers and not kill them with the bumps. Just trying to gauge the possibilities. I had Eibach Pro Kits on my old 1990 and 1997 Maxima. And I currently have the Tein Basics on my 1997 Maxima. I know VRT makes a coilover kit, but I'm not sure that the ride will be comfortable enough.

Try to keep your overall tire size the same before and after.

Send Tony@RiversideInfiniti or Jason@RiversideInfiniti a PM about the battery cover, they will get you the best price.

I'd say stay stock then if comfort is important. You'll have consider install/uninstall of springs if u dont like them plus camber kit if u wanna fix the neg camber. With 19" wheels looks nice and the wheel gap is not as big. From experience, i've tried almost H-techs, 350z springs and the eibach is pretty similiar ride as H-techs.

If not for the coilovers, i'd be back on stock springs. The coilover is great cos its has adjustable dampening hard/soft settings....course i have it almost softest setting and ride is pretty close to stock. driving a loaner while car is at dealer...man i miss the comfortable ride

Definitely get the 245/40/19's.....slightly larger O.D. than stock & helps fill the fender some...PLUS that added protection on the streets!

Thank you all for the advice and suggestions. G-Mony thanks alot for jumping in and the feedback regarding the VRT C/Os. I'm still doing some research, considering the Tanabe D210 springs, 1.7 front and 1.5 rear drops, anyone has any experience with these?

Thanks TT and others re: the battery cover, will do.

Performance-wise, you can add just about anything that the RWD 5AT can have. Plug and play exhaust options are a bit limited due to fitment. Can't get sway bars, braces off the rack. I have an '04, not sure the case with the '06s. I left my suspension stock but most of the time I run 18s. Stagerring is a no no.
