I would bet the G35 wasn't racing, the Altima just assumed he was, they have to remember, in order for you to win, the other guy has to be racing too, not just you! I see that al the time, I used to get these fart machine ricer's when I had my Mustang GT, one guy took off from a light, I just normally accelerated, and he went way ahead of me, when we go to the next light, he say's "HaHa, I beat your GT" I just laughed at him and said "too bad I wasn't racing, I don't race" That pissed him off!

yes on a track, the G35 will hand the altima its ***, stock for stock.

once you start modding, ?????????, there are altimas competing nicely in autocross with S2000's and C4 Corvettes in the stock class (some mods but limited). The G seems to be about even witth the S2000 in all regards (with good drivers).

I drove a modified altima and now I drive a modified G. The two are not that different in straightline performance. 40k miles in the altima, 22k in the G. It only takes a good driver and some basic boltons to crack 13's in the altima (5MT). It takes some mods to hit 13's in the G as well. The Z is on average a 14.0 second car, which means a better than average altima driver can catch the average Z driver, stock for stock.

in a straight line, it is a driver's race to 90-100 mph. so it is very likely the altima can take the g in a straightline. Driver error can make seconds of difference, let alone tenths. Especially on the street where the G loses its RWD advantage from a roll or a street start (each driver feeling out the other to see if he is gonna "go").

Now shut the hell up. Nobody here is comparing the total package, as everyone admits teh G is a better car. I BOUGHT one for christ sake, nuff said. Only thing we are comparing is straight line and like I said watch out for the altima's especially if you forget to disable VDC.

I meant stock Altima vs. stock G? WTF who's saying Altima cannot break 13s. Modded, yes - stock NO. and there is never going to be equal modded cars running next to each other.

a stock altima 5mt is very close to the stock G 6MT 0-60 times. the difference between the auto versions is very significant.
