Even better, he's got a toroidal CVT. No belts - it works on a connected set of disks that pivot to change ratio.

There is a better discription of the technology here:

To go fast, DO NOT SHIFT IT YOURSELF. It will feel slower but go faster.

thank you... people need to stop confusing an 8 speed auto with the CVT he has. I posted the fact early in the beginning of the thread.

You've never heard of a CVT tranny? Basically in drive, the CVT will never shift. If you launch the car, the revs will rise to 6000-6500rpms and stay there the entire time you keep your foot planted. There's no shifting because the gear ratio is infinitely variable. It's an odd sensation and not very sporting in sound. I've had a few Nissan Muranos for work which come standard with CVT. To give people the sensation of torque shock and gear ratios, some Nissan cars like this G35, have some preset gear ratios to give the driver that "waaaaa.....waaaaaaaaa.....waaaaaaaaaaa" sound and sensation most of us are used to with conventional autos and manuals.

As for 1/4 mile times, they seem to be fractionally slower because they can be a bit boggy off the line and at speeds over 80mph. I know that the 05+ Maxima owners with the CVT trannies with 5 preset gears typically see .3 to .4 second and 2mph slower ET/MPHs compared to their conventional automatic counterparts. I don't have a clue about the G35s CVT though.

I think i have seen that nissan maxima CVT commercial, but wasnt sure exactly what it was. Never researched it...this is really weird to me haha so if it doesnt change gears while just driving how does it change gears when the car is floored? The kid said it runs off of pulleys...?

Only done a few tanks, and I'm testing out different fuels over the next few months. Always 98RON.

This fuel type - screen averages 6.7KM/L.
Last tank I filled up 431KM for 69L out of a 80L tank.

Someone convert that out for me please, haven't got my spreadsheet handy

In Japan they also have an option to have floor lights in the front foot wells, and they are a bluish color.
Thanks Neal your posts make me laugh! You forgot the backup camera
No heated seats. That's the gf's job. And I don't know if it has TPMS, but I have a trusty boot that checks that for me.

Got any mods planned?
This is the best I can do for now. Gear numbers don't show in CVT mode, but if you flick it to manual, you get a roundabout idea of what gear it's in.
Yes mirrors are powerfolding. Trying to get a good baseline before I start modding. First mod obviously will be a good intake, but the JWT gear is very pricey over here, so will try and source something from Japan. Also interested in doing something with the ECU, whether it will be a chip or a safc. Recommendations?

Badges are staying where they are, I never got why anyone would fake what their car is? Seems kinda sad. Also no one knows what an Infiniti is over here and I only know cause I found this site!

From what I read, that's about right, only problem is when I put it into the billion mode, I have to upshift REALLY fast!

That's them. How about a good straight side profile shot that shows the whole car?

Thanks.

The seat piping and the suede inserts are pretty hot! What I found interesting is how the back seat only has a standard lap belt for the center passenger.
