6mt sedan owners please comment here...

I'm interested in purchasing a 05-06 6mt sedan. All owners please feel free to comment on your ride. Especially interior features:

1.Does 6mt come with memory seats w/auto entry/exit??? (most pics show there's a button on the seat)

2.I've noticed in pictures a led display that says "REV"(center of the gauge cluster) please elaborate on this feature/function.

3.I'd prefer to get a model already equipped with OEM Nav unit, only because it appears that the best aftermarket solution is a double din in dash unit that requires a lot of modification to work. What are some of the best/worst features you've found in the OEM Nav unit?

Please dont attack my post because of its lack of knowledge I'm new to the board and would like to say thanks to all the lucky g35 owners out there.

1. I would think so as part of the premium pkg but we need a 05/06 6mt owner to chime in.

2. ^^

3. The DD navi units are not that hard to install but the oem is very nice too. IMO it's always better to get the oem one if you can. For the $2k they cost the aftermarket offers more features.

6MT seats have memory for 2 drivers, but no auto entry/exit like the automatic cars. reason being that you must push in the clutch to start the car which would be hard to do with the seat in the retracted position.

all depends on the packages you get.

and the rev light is some corny japanese thing that serves no purpose... other than causing every passenger who sits in the back seat for the first time to ask"what does REV mean"

i believe it comes standard on every 05/06 6mt beacuse its the "rev up motor"

there is a shift light below the letters that can be useful, but once again the letters do nothing.

best feature - tucks away
worst feature - theres nothing really special about it...reminds you when you need to change oil...thats about it (if your gonna give me a joystick...at least get me some mrs. packman!)

garmin sells a touchscreen, rechargable battery and 12v, pocket dictionary sized, easy to use, windshield mounted navi unit. cost about 200-300 bucks. very nice unit

The first two questions were answered so I'll focus on the third . The coolest feature of the Nav. system is the hideaway - it's nice not to have to look at the screen when its not in use. The worst feature is the joystick for inputting info. It's either "too sensitive" or "not sensitive enough" ( those of you that have it will know what I mean) but it beats stopping at gas stations for directions.

i have on 05, non nav
rev light is not important to me
for seat memory, i program button 2 to raise the sterring wheel and slide the seat back so when i use the unlovk button on the key fob it moves it back and up for entry, i then push button 1 for my driving position

Attack? Not at all, these are good questions.

1.Memory? No. Just the seat memory you can get with the key when you get in. Now if you are the only one driving, you can set the controls on the seat to do the same thing. Set #1 for your setting and #2 for full back and wheel up. Simple.

2. The rev light annoyed the heck out of me when I first got the car (had it two years now), NISSAN should have left the light out. We can all figure out what the shift light is for. But now I don't notice it.

3. Def get the factory Nav. I wish I had.

As for the car itself, It is the best car I have ever had. I have had ZERO trouble with it. I have had none of the oil consumption problems (I have an MT6) that others have had. It's comfortable, goes like a scalded cat, and looks fantastic.

I would buy a 2007 sedan, but I love this one so much.

One thing nobody's mentioned about the REV light is that it's programmable in 200 RPM increments, so if you're into huffing trees you can set the shift indicator for maximum fuel efficiency. Or, if you're like me, you can set it to 6800rpm and never have to worry about it coming on (unless you've done something really, really bad).

And good for you for looking at the '05-'06s, IMO the '07s lack the agressive and distinctive styling of the first and second generations. Looks like the bastard child of an M35 and a Toyota Avalon.

Exactly! But I wouldn't mind having one.
